About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled GIS Specialist to join our Business Intelligence Projects Team at Great Places Housing Association. As a GIS Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery and use of geospatial data across the business, providing valuable insights to inform decision-making and improve service delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain GIS systems, spatial databases, and data management processes to ensure seamless data integration and accessibility.
  • Develop and maintain webmap services, ensuring regular updates and user permissions are in place for efficient self-service.
  • Provide complex GIS data analysis, visualizations, and insights to internal and external clients, leveraging your expertise to drive business outcomes.
  • Lead the coordination and prioritization of GIS requests, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact projects.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions on GIS usage, promoting awareness and skill-building among colleagues to enhance data-driven decision-making.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to ensure Great Places remains at the forefront of GIS innovation.
  • Collaborate with data owners and subject matter experts to design, develop, and implement data visualization tools and dashboards.
  • Support the Business Intelligence Team in adhering to the Group's Performance Management Framework and operational management of the business.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on data analysis, visualization, and interpretation to colleagues across the business.
Requirements
  • Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in a field such as GIS, geography, computer science, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in a GIS-related role, with a strong understanding of GIS software, data management, and spatial analysis.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in GIS software, data management, and spatial analysis, with a strong understanding of data visualization and presentation techniques.
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing priorities, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality results.
