About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled GIS Specialist to join our Business Intelligence Projects Team at Great Places Housing Group. As a GIS Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery and use of geospatial data across the business, providing insights and information to help improve service delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, specify, and implement GIS systems, spatial databases, and data projects to maximise the use of GIS across the organisation.
  • Provide complex GIS data analysis, visualisations, and insights for internal and external clients.
  • Lead the coordination and prioritisation of GIS requests in relation to key projects across the business.
  • Work with the BI Projects Team Leader to raise staff awareness of GIS usage and benefits.
  • Assist with keeping Great Places' data up to date and maximising the use of external datasets.
  • Support corporate projects, such as customer feedback, procurement, equality and diversity, and value for money.
  • Collaborate with data owners and subject matter experts to design and develop tools for presenting routine spatial data analysis.
  • Escalate issues with data accuracy or system usage to ensure prompt and satisfactory resolution.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a GIS-related role.
  • Proficiency in GIS desktop software (Cadcorp SIS, QGIS, ESRI) and data management.
  • Numerical skills with the ability to analyse data and statistics.
  • Excellent level of ICT skills, including Microsoft applications and technology such as mobile phones, tablets, and laptops.
  • Understanding and knowledge of SQL desirable.
  • Clean UK driving licence and access to a car desirable.
