Commercial Director Opportunity

Chase & Holland is excited to partner with a highly successful and growing engineering business based in the Chesterfield area to recruit a Commercial Director. This critical role will drive business performance and growth by building on outstanding relationships with long-standing clients and promoting commercial activity that generates revenues and leads to sustainable growth.

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on and experienced Commercial Director, Manager, or Head of Commercial, with excellent stakeholder management experience and a proven track record of driving business growth. They will lead the commercial team, design and implement commercial strategies, and manage market analysis and research to drive the company's overall strategic plan.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing and implementing commercial strategies to meet overall business objectives
  • Proactively seeking out new business opportunities
  • Managing market analysis and research on competitors to drive the company's overall strategic plan
  • Leading on contracts with clients to ensure commercial viability and acting as the main point of contact
  • Managing revenue strategies to increase revenue streams for existing and new clients
  • Forecasting, budgeting, and cost management of commercial activities
  • Designing and developing effective measures to optimize revenue streams
  • Building and maintaining robust relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Leading and mentoring the commercial team
  • Identifying and reducing commercial risks

Requirements and skills:

  • Proven experience as a Commercial Director or other relevant role
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale contracts, ideally with framework experience
  • Strong stakeholder management experience and relationship management experience
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills
  • P&L management working closely with the Finance Director
  • Experience leading a diverse team
  • Commercial awareness partnered with a strategic and analytical mindset
