Job Title: Community Consultant Psychiatrist

The Avon & Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Sarum Community Mental Health Team (CMHT).

Main Responsibilities

The post holder will play a key role in the multi-disciplinary team, providing advice and assessment of patients under the Working Adult CMHT service. This will involve liaising and working closely with other local services and GPs to ensure seamless care for our patients.

Key Duties
  • Undertake urgent and routine psychiatric assessments when necessary
  • Liaise with GPs regarding a service user's medical monitoring results
Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification
  • Experience of assessing and treating patients in a community setting
  • Ability to assess and treat psychiatric problems in Adults of working age and to deal with crisis situations
  • Commitment to and experience of undergraduate and postgraduate learning and teaching
  • Experience or involvement in a research project and publication
  • Experience of carrying out an audit project
  • Evidence of management/leadership skills training
