Consultant Psychiatrist in Intellectual Disability

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team in the North Norfolk Community Learning Disability Team. As a Consultant Psychiatrist in Intellectual Disability, you will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical care to patients with intellectual disabilities, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
Main Responsibilities:- Undertake clinical assessments of referrals within the North Norfolk CLDT, providing expert advice on the management of complex mental disorders and challenging behavior in people with intellectual disabilities.
- Support CPA and S117 review processes through outpatient clinics and domiciliary visits, ensuring patients receive the best possible care.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary, multi-agency, and partnership working for highly complex cases, such as those under community forensic or continuing healthcare services.
- Ensure patients are subject to best practice in risk management and outcome measurement.
- Participate in the consultant on-call rota, providing 24/7 support to patients and colleagues.
- MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
- Experience of full range of clinical responsibilities expected of a consultant in psychiatry of intellectual disability.
- Excellent degree of medical knowledge in relation to neurodevelopmental conditions.
- Participated in continuous professional development.
- Holds a full valid driving license and access to a car.
