Job Overview:

We Manage Jobs (WMJobs) is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support a child with special educational needs in a school setting. As a Learning Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the pupil's access to all national curriculum subjects and promoting their independence as learners.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to motivate and encourage the pupil, and work closely with the class teacher to develop strategies to support the pupil's progress.

This is a temporary contract initially linked to the named child, offering a competitive salary range of £23,657 - £24,404 per annum, depending on experience. Main Responsibilities:
  • Aid pupils with special needs in accessing all national curriculum subjects and encourage independence as learners.
  • Motivate and encourage the SEND pupil to behave well in and around school, promote self-esteem through praise and encouragement, and address areas of concern to the class teacher.
  • Meet physical and hygiene needs of the named SEND pupil, including assistance with mealtimes, and attend meetings with professionals or parents as required.
  • Assist in acquiring literacy and numeracy skills, working individually or in groups as directed by the class teacher, and support pupils with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties.

Requirements:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate and encourage pupils with special needs.
  • Willingness to work closely with the class teacher to develop strategies to support pupil progress.
