About the Role

As a key member of our Assessment service team, you will champion high standards of professional social work practice. You will be used to working at pace in a high-pressurized environment, ensuring no drift and delay for our families.

Working closely with your skilled social work team, which includes family practitioners and business support, you will ensure good quality assessments to achieve improved consistent outcomes for our children and young people.

About You

You will be responsible for advocating for the children and young people of Devon, ensuring each child has an active, up-to-date plan, as well as supporting young people as they transition to adulthood.

Your skills and experience will include:

  • A social work qualification and registration with Social Work England
  • Satisfactory completion of your Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE)
  • Experience working within social care, including working in a multi-agency and court environment
  • A high level of written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to build effective professional relationships with children, families, and other professionals
  • Knowledge and understanding of the legislation, models, and theories relevant to children's social work
  • Exceptional recording and planning skills
  • A valid UK driving license and access to a car

In return for your vital contribution, we offer an estimated salary of £35,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on your experience, as well as a range of benefits including up to £2,000 annual retention payment, generous annual leave, and free onsite parking.
