Parts Advisor

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Parts Advisor to join our team at Volvo Group. As a key member of our Parts Department, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional service to our customers, ensuring the efficient supply of HGV parts, and maintaining accurate inventory levels.
Key Responsibilities:- Receive and store parts deliveries, maintaining accurate inventory levels and adhering to prearranged systems.
- Locate and label parts, ensuring accurate stock management and minimizing stock shortages.
- Conduct regular inventory stock counts to maintain accurate records.
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in the Parts Department, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.
- Report stock shortages to the Parts Supervisor, ensuring prompt action is taken to rectify the issue.
- Produce accurate parts quotations for internal and external customers, ensuring timely and efficient communication.
- Document and supervise the condition of parts returned for credit, reporting any damaged or unsuitable items to the Parts Supervisor.
- Ensure procedures are properly carried out for the ordering and receipt of goods, maintaining accurate records and minimizing errors.
- Raise accurate credits for goods returned, ensuring prompt reimbursement to customers.
- Ensure all parts and old units returned are labelled and packed correctly, with relevant paperwork completed accurately.
- Discuss the use and features of various parts with customers, based on knowledge of trucks and buses, providing expert advice and guidance.
- Accurately compile parts from job cards for repairs being carried out in the workshop, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
- Provide feedback on competitors to the Parts Supervisor, ensuring the team remains competitive and informed.
- Proactively sell parts and promotions to customers, identifying opportunities to increase sales and revenue.
- Work with the Parts Supervisor to achieve maximum competency levels, ensuring the team remains skilled and knowledgeable.
- Participate in special projects as required, contributing to the continuous improvement of the Parts Department.
- Pick up and deliver parts on occasion, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
- Work within health and safety company guidelines, maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.
- Driving Licence required.
- Able to identify different parts using catalogues and systems.
- Numerical ability to work with part numbers.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with people inside and outside the organization.
- Selling and influencing skills to promote additional parts sales.
- Documenting and recording information accurately.
- IT literate to competently use DMS and associated software and systems.
- Proactive, enthusiastic, and approachable attitude.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Flexible and positive approach to changing circumstances and priorities.
- Commercial awareness.
