About Leather Working Group

Leather Working Group is a leading organization in the leather industry, dedicated to promoting sustainability and transparency throughout the supply chain. Our team works collaboratively with brands, manufacturers, and other stakeholders to develop and implement best practices in leather production.

Job Title: Policy Director

We are seeking a highly skilled Policy Director to join our team. As a key member of our senior management team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing our strategic direction, with a focus on sustainability and environmental policy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement our sustainability strategy, working closely with the Executive Director and other senior team members.
  • Manage the development and maintenance of our LWG Sustainability Standards, ensuring they remain relevant and effective.
  • Provide technical support and training to leather manufacturers and supply chain actors, promoting best practices in the leather industry.
  • Line manage the Standards team, ensuring they have the necessary resources and support to deliver their objectives.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in sustainability, environmental policy, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of the leather industry and its supply chain.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Ability to influence others and work collaboratively with stakeholders.
