Job Title: Community Ecologist

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Community Ecologist to join our team at Penguin Recruitment Ltd. As a key member of our ecological consultancy, you will be responsible for leading and managing ecological projects, providing expert guidance on environmental assessments and biodiversity strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage ecological assessments, habitat surveys, and impact studies for various projects.
  • Conduct and oversee field surveys, including protected species surveys, habitat assessments, and ecological monitoring.
  • Prepare detailed ecological reports, impact assessments, and mitigation strategies.
  • Mentor and support junior ecologists, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment.
  • Ensure projects comply with relevant legislation, planning policies, and environmental standards.

Requirements:

  • Experience within an ecological consultancy or a related field.
  • Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or related discipline. A master's degree or PhD is advantageous.
  • Proficient in ecological survey techniques, data analysis, and report writing.
  • Strong understanding of UK wildlife legislation, planning regulations, and best practices in ecological management.
