Ecological Project Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Principal/Lead Ecologist to join our UK-wide Ecology team at Stantec. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing complex ecological issues within a project context, mentoring staff, engaging with clients, and supporting bids and tenders to increase the diversity of projects that we currently deliver.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ecology, with expertise in UKHab classification and the Defra Metric. You will also have excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to craft compelling fee proposals and manage project budgets.
As a Principal/Lead Ecologist, you will have the opportunity to work with autonomy and build a successful team, designed around your passion for ecology. You will be supported by the ecology water lead and other principal ecologists within the wider team, but will be expected to act with some autonomy in order to build a team and secure opportunities for a growing team.
