Job Summary
The Operations and Quality Director will oversee quality and operational initiatives for partner communities, working closely with internal and external partners to implement the governance program of Welltower for the RIDEA portfolio in the UK. This role will also participate in quality and operational initiatives across the UK portfolio and ensure compliance by operators with regulatory schemes governing the care homes.
Key Responsibilities
- Review the current care, quality, and operational position of third-party operators by analyzing statutory reports, KPI data, CQC reports, and other relevant information.
- Develop quarterly trend reports for board meetings of operating subsidiaries, providing recommendations for change as required and a summary of all visits and actions.
- Conduct in-person, in-depth quality monitoring/audit visits of Welltower registered care homes in line with governing regulatory standards or guidance.
- Create audit assessment reports following community visits, presenting clear findings and recommended action plans. Follow up with communities to ensure implementation of corrective actions and perform re-visits on a risk-rated basis to address key risks to the company.
- Attend quarterly quality meetings with external and internal leadership to discuss care quality trends, CQC reports, and other topics related to governance or clinical quality performance.
- Stay up-to-date with best practices and methodologies, communicating developments with operating partners' quality and leadership teams.
- Support and enhance the delivery of a quality assurance and clinical governance system that enables continuous improvement and positive resident outcomes.
- Provide transactional support related to CQC registrations and regulatory structuring.
- Complete all registrations and updates for care homes for Welltower operating companies and work with third-party operators to track and maintain proper registration of the homes and general managers.
Travel
Around 60% travel is expected for this role, with frequent visits to London and surrounding areas.
Requirements
A minimum of 5 years of related work experience in the seniors care sector is required, with clinical experience and experience with CQC registrations being highly desirable.
