Maintenance Technician Job Description

At LINK Recruitment Group, we are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a maintenance engineer or technician with a mechanical or electrical skill set to work in a well-established company that is continuously growing.

The Role: As a Maintenance Technician, you will be working within a team to carry out PPM's and maintenance on a range of production machinery, including vertical powder paint lines, semi-automated packing lines, and spray guns reciprocators. You will also have the opportunity to work on liquid pumps, valves, and heating elements in chemical treatment and wastewater treatment plant, as well as polyamide rolling lines and packing machines.

Responsibilities:

  • To continually carry out routine/preventative maintenance, mechanical settings, and fault diagnosis across all the facility and systems.
  • To have an understanding of pneumatic/mechanical control systems.
  • To have an understanding of electro/mechanical control systems.
  • To adhere to and maintain a preventative maintenance programme.
  • To liaise with and assist internal staff where required, promptly and in a professional manner.

Requirements:

  • Completion of an engineering apprenticeship and/or HNC level or above in an engineering-related subject; or equivalent experience within a relevant engineering role.
  • Experience of working within a manufacturing environment.
  • You will be multi-skilled, with the ability to fault-find and repair both mechanical and electrical fields.
  • Experience across a variety of pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to perform both proactive & reactive maintenance duties using a scheduled maintenance system.

Benefits:

  • This is a permanent role with a competitive salary of £43,000 per annum, plus benefits such as overtime pay, training opportunities, and pension scheme.
  • You will work a 2-shift pattern (days and afternoons) with a regular schedule of Monday to Thursday 6am-2pm and Friday 6am-12pm, alternating weeks.
