We are seeking an Expert Endocrine Nurse Specialist to join our team at Maidstone Hospital, providing exceptional care and support to patients with endocrine conditions.

Job Overview

The successful candidate will work as part of our multidisciplinary team, delivering specialist nursing care to patients with endocrine disorders. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled nurse to develop their expertise and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the investigation and management of patients with potential endocrine disorders by performing dynamic function tests, interpreting results, and collaborating with consultants to initiate treatment where appropriate.
  • Running weekly nurse-led thyroid clinics, assessing symptoms, managing medications, and making clinical decisions using Trust protocols.
  • Providing education and guidance to patients, carers, and healthcare professionals on endocrine conditions, treatments, and self-management strategies.
  • Developing and implementing effective communication strategies to engage with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Participating in audit and research initiatives to improve patient outcomes and service quality.

Person Specification:

  • RN with experience at Band 6 or equivalent.
  • Clinical experience pertinent to endocrinology, including venepuncture and cannulation skills.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Advanced clinical assessment skills and ability to prioritize workload.

Working Arrangements:

This full-time role will be based primarily at Maidstone Hospital, with occasional cross-site working at Tunbridge Wells. The successful candidate will be required to work flexibly, including weekends and bank holidays, to meet the needs of the service.

Salary: £43,041 - £54,122 per annum (inclusive of Band 6 NHS salary range), plus benefits and opportunities for professional development.
