About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech and Language Therapist to join our dynamic Acute Stroke Team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust.

Job Overview

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapist to work with a diverse range of patients, providing expert care and support in a fast-paced acute environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and manage patients with dysphagia and communication disorders
  • Develop and implement effective treatment plans to promote patient recovery and independence
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care coordination
  • Supervise SLT Assistants and students as appropriate
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A BSc or recognised MSc degree in Speech and Language Therapy
  • Membership of RCSLT and registration with HCPC
  • Completed RCSLT Level C / EDS Level 5 dysphagia competencies (or above)
  • Completed RCSLT NQP competencies
  • Experience working independently with adult dysphagia caseloads and within adult inpatient and/or outpatient settings
