Job Overview
Randstad Construction and Property is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team. As a key member of the facilities maintenance division, you will play a crucial role in ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quantity surveying, with experience in dealing with tender stages, subcontract procurement, and contractual issues. They will also possess excellent negotiation skills, risk management experience, and the ability to provide cost advice to design consultants.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Dealing with tender stage subcontract and material enquiries.
  2. Assisting with subcontract procurement, agreement, payment, and award.
  3. Attending meetings, contributing, and taking minutes as required.
  4. Preparing valuations, agreeing amounts for payment, and ensuring invoices are prepared and issued.
  5. Re-measuring work using site measurement and drawings.
  6. Informing sub-contractors of contract variations.
  7. Dealing with contractual issues from a commercial perspective.
  8. Provision of cost advice to Design Consultants.
  9. Assisting with reporting on contract performance via monthly cost/value reconciliations.
  10. Agreeing client and subcontract final accounts.


Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Procurement experience.
  • Measurement (NRM/SMM).
  • Negotiation skills.
  • Risk Management experience.
  • Valuation of change.
  • Interim & Final valuations.
  • Cost/ Value Reconciliation.
  • Forecasting.
  • Valid CSCS card (desirable).
  • Valid driving licence.


Packages and Benefits:

Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 per annum.

Annual Leave: 33 days including bank holidays.

Healthcare: Available.
