Health and Safety Manager

This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading food manufacturer in Staffordshire as their Health, Safety and Environmental Manager. As a business critical role, you will have the scope to define and develop the site's HSE improvement plan, cementing a culture of best practice.
Key Responsibilities- Management of the health and safety department, providing competent health and safety guidance and leadership to all stakeholders across the site.
- Strategic lead for health and safety matters, ensuring a robust approach to risk assessment, audit and inspection.
- Development of policy, ensuring teams across the site are working in accordance with legislative requirements.
- Lead the site in ensuring environmental sustainability and the health and well-being of the workforce.
- Drive engagement cross functionally and at all levels in the business, ensuring deterrence to the HSE standards and driving a positive effective health and safety culture.
- Develop relationships with external HSE bodies to ensure a collaborative working relationship.
- Prepare, monitor & analyse health, safety and environmental trends, identifying corrective actions.
- Work with the wider senior management team to implement and promote systems and processes that further the Health & Safety culture.
- Implementing and monitoring accident and incident investigation, reporting and analysis.
- Contribute to wider site continuous improvement projects outside of HSE.
- A NEBOSH Diploma ideally (Certificate or advanced HSE training/qualifications will be considered)
- A proactive approach to HSE matters
- The ability to implement new ideas and procedures across the site, able to influence and engage key stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
- Demonstrable experience leading a successful Health and Safety department
- Collaborative working style, working effectively cross functionally
- The ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organisation
- Circa £55,000 and £60,000 per annum
- Opportunity to lead a department and shape the site culture
