About Our Client
A leading food manufacturer in Staffordshire is seeking an experienced Health, Safety and Environmental Manager to lead HSE strategy and drive ongoing improvement. As a key member of the site leadership team, you will ensure HSE remains a focus across the operation.
Job Description
This business has a strong market presence and is committed to driving improvement and further developing their site performance. As the Head of Health, Safety & Environmental Manager, you will be instrumental in leading the site and supporting the wider operation in delivering sustainable HSE standards and processes. You will be developing and implementing HSE initiatives across the site.
- Management of the health and safety department, providing competent health and safety guidance and leadership to all stakeholders across the site.
- Strategic lead for health and safety matters, ensuring a robust approach to risk assessment, audit, and inspection.
- Development of policy, ensuring teams across the site are working in accordance with legislative requirements.
- Lead the site in ensuring environmental sustainability and the health and well-being of the workforce.
- Drive engagement cross-functionally and at all levels in the business, ensuring adherence to the HSE standards and driving a positive effective health and safety culture.
- Move the business to an independent culture through inspired leadership of the HSE agenda.
- Develop relationships with external HSE bodies to ensure a collaborative working relationship.
- Prepare, monitor & analyze health, safety, and environmental trends, identifying corrective actions.
- Work with the wider senior management team to implement and promote systems and processes that further the Health & Safety culture.
- Implement and monitor accident and incident investigation, reporting, and analysis.
- Contribute to wider site continuous improvement projects outside of HSE.
The Successful Applicant
This is a great opportunity for a HSE Manager with experience within food manufacturing looking to take on a strategic role, shaping and developing the HSE culture of a business committed to improvement.
The successful applicant will have:
- A NEBOSH Diploma ideally (Certificate or advanced HSE training/qualifications will be considered).
- A proactive approach to HSE matters.
- Demonstrable experience leading a successful Health and Safety department.
