Occupational Therapist for Older Adults in Mental Health

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team at Greater Manchester Mental Health NHSFT.
The successful candidate will work with older adults who present with organic and functional mental health problems, providing occupational therapy assessment and intervention to improve their daily lives.
As a key member of the occupational therapy team, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and recording interventions to support the recovery of our service users.
You will also provide support, assistance, and advice to carers of older adults with mental health problems, as well as contribute to the development of the Trust's occupational therapy service.
Key Responsibilities
- To assess and develop individualized care plans for older adults with mental health problems.
- To provide occupational therapy assessment and intervention to improve daily functioning and participation.
- To collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care for our service users.
- To maintain accurate records and reports of client progress and treatment outcomes.
- To contribute to the development of new initiatives and projects within the Trust's occupational therapy service.
Requirements
- Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Post-registration experience working with older adults and individuals with mental health conditions.
- Strong communication, liaison, and negotiation skills.
- Able to work autonomously and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Benefits
- An estimated salary range of £38,000 - £50,000 per annum, depending on experience.
- 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, rising to 30 days after 5 years and 35 days after 10 years.
