We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced mental health nurse to join our team as a Lead Charge Nurse at the Chichester Low Secure Forensic Service. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual who is passionate about providing high-quality, patient-centered care.

About the Role

As a Lead Charge Nurse, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and management to staff, ensuring that patients receive effective and compassionate care. You will work collaboratively with medical staff and other healthcare professionals to support the delivery of patient care.

Job Responsibilities
  • Undertake assessments of individuals with complex mental health presentations, including those presenting with higher levels of risk.
  • Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with service users and their carers.
  • Provide specialist nursing advice and assessment where required.
  • Assess and manage ongoing risks, ensuring that this is done in collaboration with the service user and carers.
  • Regularly review risk factors and make changes to the management of them as necessary.

Salary and Benefits

The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary of approximately £42,046 per annum, plus additional benefits including a relocation package up to £8,000 (subject to terms and conditions) and access to a range of employee benefits, including pension schemes and training opportunities.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A professional qualification in mental health nursing.
  • Diploma in Mental Health Nursing or equivalent.
  • Registered Nurse with current registration (mental health/ LD/ Adult) appropriate to the job role.
  • Completion of Mentorship Course/ENB equivalent.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.

You should also possess significant post-qualifying experience relevant to the care group and have experience of working alongside people with severe mental health problems, particularly in their acute phase of illness.
