Store Operations Manager

Martin Williams (Hull) Ltd, a family-run business established in 1990, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Store Operations Manager to oversee the efficient operation of its stores and inventory management.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all parts and materials are accurately recorded, stored, and distributed to meet the needs of the company's busy workshops and other departments.

This is a hands-on role, and the successful candidate will lead by example, demonstrating strong leadership and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the day-to-day operations of the stores, ensuring efficient stock control and organization.
  2. Receipt, inspection, and storage of incoming goods, ensuring quality and quantity accuracy.
  3. Coordinate with the workshop and other departments to ensure timely availability of parts and materials.
  4. Implement and maintain inventory management systems, including stock audits.
  5. Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure the best pricing and timely delivery of goods.
  6. Manage a small team of store operatives, providing training and development to ensure high performance.
  7. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the stores environment.

Requirements:

  1. Proven experience in a stores or inventory management role, preferably within a similar industry.
  2. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  3. Proficiency in inventory management software.
  4. Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  5. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  6. Forklift experience is essential.
