About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and empathetic individual to support people affected by dementia in our Congresbury Care2gether group.

As a Group Support Volunteer, you will play a vital role in creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for people with dementia and their carers. Your primary responsibility will be to assist the Group Facilitator in setting up the room, welcoming attendees, and supporting people with dementia to participate in activities.

The session lasts one and a half hours, and you will be expected to arrive half an hour prior to the start to prepare for the group and stay half an hour after the end of the group to tidy away and take part in a debrief.

If you have the skills and empathy to make a difference to people living with dementia, we encourage you to apply for this rewarding volunteer opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Group Facilitator in setting up the room and welcoming attendees
  • Support people with dementia to participate in activities
  • Help set up and tidy away at the end of the group
  • Participate in a debrief after the group
