Job Title: Consultant Geriatrician / Frailty

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Geriatrician / Frailty to join our Elderly Care team at East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services for local residents.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Work with consultant colleagues and the Acute Frailty Team to provide specialist care to older people living with frailty.
  • Contribute to the full range of skills required for the on-call rota for the specialty.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive clinical services for patients with frailty.
  • Supervise and mentor junior doctors and other healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of clinical guidelines.
Requirements:
  • Hold a medical qualification or qualification registered with the GMC.
  • Have a higher medical qualification (e.g. MRCP/MRCS or equivalent).
  • Hold Specialist Registration or be within 6 months of CCT date.
  • Have a good working knowledge of the theory and practice of Geriatric Medicine.
Desirable Qualities:
  • Experience in teaching and training junior doctors and other healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, relatives, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Commitment to continuing professional development and staying up-to-date with the latest clinical guidelines and research.
