About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Unit Manager to join our team at Chartwells - Schools. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of our catering and service operations, ensuring that we deliver exceptional food and customer service to our students and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and manage a team of catering and service staff to ensure seamless delivery of food and service operations.
  • Oversee the efficiency of all in-unit operations, including inventory management, budget monitoring, and implementing action plans to drive sales and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate regularly with your line manager to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and targets, ensuring that we meet our business objectives.
  • Represent Chartwells - Schools and maintain a positive brand image, ensuring that we consistently deliver high-quality food and service to our customers.
  • Identify opportunities for new service concepts to drive sales and improve customer satisfaction, working closely with our culinary and operations teams to develop and implement new ideas.
  • Liaise between customers and our internal teams to ensure that we consistently exceed customer expectations.
  • Support and train our teams, leading from the front to ensure that everyone has the skills and knowledge they need to excel in their role.
  • Implement and review Health & Safety standards to ensure compliance across all catering and service teams, ensuring that we maintain a safe and healthy working environment for our staff and customers.
Requirements
  • Minimum of two years of management experience within a similar sector or industry, preferably in a catering or hospitality environment.
  • Experience managing teams in a similar role, with a proven track record of delivering results and improving customer satisfaction.
  • Excellent financial acumen, with the ability to manage budgets and make informed decisions about resource allocation.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ambitious and motivated individual who is always looking to upskill and develop their knowledge and skills.
