About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervising Social Worker to join our team at Polaris Community. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting our foster parents and young people in the Watford and Milton Keynes area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support foster parents to achieve outstanding outcomes for children and young people in foster care.
  • Monitor the suitability and competence of foster parents, ensuring they provide a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Provide regular supervision to allocated foster parents, ensuring they understand the fostering task and competencies.
  • Work in partnership with foster families, social workers, and other professionals to identify needs and provide support.
  • Ensure compliance with key documentation and attend meetings with commissioning teams.
  • Promote participation of children and young people in the development of the agency and local community.

Requirements:

  • A Social Work qualification and professional registration with Social Work England.
  • Proven ability to produce high-quality report writing and a comprehensive working knowledge of relevant legislation and child safeguarding procedures.
  • The willingness and ability to travel extensively, including occasional nights away, and confidence in transporting children and young people in stressful situations.
  • A full driving licence and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
