Job Title: Consultant Social Worker

Sanctuary Personnel Ltd, a leading recruitment agency, is seeking a highly skilled Consultant Social Worker to join their Family Safeguarding Team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be based in Apsley, Hertfordshire, and will work full-time.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Consultant Social Worker to undertake assessments of children in need, develop and implement robust care plans, and provide high-quality support to children, families, and carers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in social work, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake assessments of children in need, in accordance with the Assessment Framework and Working Together.
  • Develop and implement robust care plans to promote the development, wellbeing, and protection of children.
  • Provide high-quality support to children, families, and carers, ensuring their needs are met and their rights are respected.
  • Work collaboratively with other professionals, including social workers, teachers, and healthcare professionals, to ensure the best possible outcomes for children.
  • Conduct care proceedings on behalf of the Service, with appropriate guidance and authorisation.
  • Represent children, young people, families, carers, groups, and individuals to access services, and provide advice on independent advocacy.
  • Play a leading role in improving practice and quality of assessments and care planning within the Team, through mentoring, leading team meetings, and workshops.
Requirements:
  • Social work qualification with registration with Social Work England.
  • Experience in managing social work caseloads and supervising others.
  • Experience of community and/or group work.
  • Knowledge of children's health and social care systems, agencies, and relevant legislation.
