About the Job

The role of a Residential Senior Carer at Barchester Healthcare involves providing high-quality care and support to our residents. As a key member of our care team, you will be responsible for leading by example, promoting a culture of dignity and respect, and ensuring that every resident receives personalized care.

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate individual who can lead a team of care staff, providing training, supervision, and delegating duties as needed. You will also be responsible for administering medication, reviewing and updating resident care plans, and liaising with external healthcare professionals.

As a Residential Senior Carer, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge through ongoing training and development opportunities. With a strong focus on career progression, many of our Senior Carers have progressed into senior roles within the company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of care staff and provide guidance and support as needed
  • Administer medication and manage medication stocks
  • Review and update resident care plans and risk assessments
  • Liaise with external healthcare professionals, including GPs and district nursing teams
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • NVQ Level 3 or Advanced Diploma in Health and Social Care
  • Previous experience in a residential care setting
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to make decisions under pressure
