Join Our Team as a Mechanical and Electrical Apprentice

We are excited to announce the launch of our Mechanical and Electrical Apprentice programme for 2024. This role is designed to provide you with a unique opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in the field of mechanical and electrical engineering.

About the Programme

The programme is a 4-year apprenticeship that combines on-the-job training with college education. You will work towards gaining a Level 3 Utilities Engineering Technician Apprenticeship, which is a nationally recognized qualification.

Key Responsibilities
  • Completing a structured programme of training in the state-of-the-art Mechanical and Electrical Engineering departmental workshops
  • Contribute to a healthy and safe working environment by working to our approved codes of practice
  • Becoming proficient in the application and use of a wide range of machine tools
  • Developing fitting and assembly skills
  • Electrical maintenance and fault-finding investigations
  • Training in the use of mechanical and electrical software packages
  • Carrying out other tasks and duties as directed that contribute to the required levels of performance and competence

Requirements
  • Ideal 5 GCSEs at grades 9 to 4 (A* to C)– but for the right person, this isn't essential
  • An ambitious mindset
  • A strong work ethic
  • The willingness to learn and develop
  • A keen interest in engineering and how things work
  • A full UK driving license - but if you do not have one, we can support you financially in achieving this
