Job Opportunity: Head of Children and Family Services

Job Summary:

Baltimore Consulting is partnering with Cornwall Council to recruit an exceptional Head of Service for their Children and Family Services in West Cornwall. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of professionals in delivering innovative and evidence-based interventions to improve the lives of Cornwall's children and families.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading multidisciplinary teams, shaping and improving early help and children's social care services, and driving innovation and evidence-based interventions. They will also be expected to further strengthen staff confidence, capability, wellbeing, and resilience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and delivery of innovative, evidence-based interventions
  • Shape and improve early help and children's social care services
  • Drive innovation and evidence-based interventions
  • Further strengthen staff confidence, capability, wellbeing, and resilience

Requirements:

  • Qualified and registered social worker
  • Proven track record of effective leadership in social care (ideally within a Local Authority setting)
  • Ability to lead the development and delivery of innovative, evidence-based interventions
  • Strong commitment to improving children's experiences and outcomes
  • Expertise in building the confidence, capabilities, and resilience of the workforce
  • Excellent ability to foster a positive, supportive work environment
  • Willingness to engage in mentoring or coaching to further develop leadership skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a senior leadership team
