Job Title: Head of Children and Family Services

We are seeking an exceptional leader to join our team as the Head of Children and Family Services in West Cornwall. As a senior social work leader, you will be responsible for shaping and improving early help and children's social care services, leading multidisciplinary teams, and driving innovation and evidence-based interventions.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of effective leadership in social care, with a strong commitment to improving children's experiences and outcomes. You will be an expert in building the confidence, capabilities, and resilience of the workforce, and have a willingness to engage in mentoring or coaching to further develop leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality services to children and families
  • Shape and further improve early help and children's social care services
  • Lead specific practice areas across Cornwall, driving innovation and evidence-based interventions
  • Further strengthen staff confidence, capability, wellbeing, and resilience

We offer a competitive salary, a generous relocation package up to £8,000, and a tailored induction to meet your specific learning and support needs. You will also have access to a Cornwall Council lease car, 26 days paid annual leave per year (rising to 29 after 5 years of service), plus bank holidays, and flexible working opportunities.
