Employer Engagement Specialist

Mencap is seeking a skilled Employer Engagement Officer to join our team in Worcester. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in building and maintaining relationships with employers to secure work placements and jobs for our young learners with Learning disabilities and/or Autism.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with employers from various industries and sectors to secure work placements and negotiate paid employment for our supported interns.
- Oversee the work of our supported interns, ensuring that placements progress and learners become independent, eventually moving into paid work.
- Identify suitable pathways and work-related opportunities for learners, working closely with designated employers.
- Sustain rapport with key employers through regular visits, exploring specific needs, and anticipating new opportunities.
- Develop and nurture stakeholder and partnership relationships to generate a consistent flow of employment opportunities for our Supported Internships.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with learners, employers, teaching professionals, and parents/carers.
- Ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date records using IT-based systems.
- Experience in employer engagement and marketing is desirable, as creating work opportunities for the people we support is a key aspect of the role.
