Job Opportunity: Employer Engagement Officer
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Employer Engagement Officer to join our team at Mencap. As an Employer Engagement Officer, you will play a crucial role in building and maintaining relationships with employers to secure work placements and jobs for our young learners with Learning disabilities and/or Autism.
About the Role:
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with employers from various industries and sectors to secure work placements and negotiate paid employment for our supported interns.
- Take the lead in Employer Engagement for the Worcester team, identifying and pursuing new business opportunities to support the growth of our Supported Internship programme.
- Work closely with our Skills Coaches to ensure that placements progress and our learners become independent, eventually moving into paid work.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities to support the growth of our Supported Internship programme.
- Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date records using IT-based systems.
What We Offer:

Requirements:
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with learners, employers, teaching professionals, and parents/carers.
- The ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date records using IT-based systems.
- Experience in employer engagement and marketing, with a focus on creating work opportunities for individuals with disabilities.
