Matron Leadership Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Matron to join our team in Secure Services. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a crucial role in promoting high-quality care and ensuring the safe delivery of services to our service users.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical and operational leadership to our team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and services.
- Work closely with Ward Managers to identify and address operational issues, focusing on service user safety and quality improvement.
- Support the development of local policies and protocols, ensuring the continuity of safe and effective care.
- Drive the infection prevention and control agenda, challenging poor practice and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Manage and respond to complaints and adverse incidents, providing support and debriefing to teams as needed.
- Carry out root cause analysis and develop action plans to address serious incidents, working closely with Ward Managers and Senior Leadership.
- Provide reports to Senior Management as required, undertaking root cause analysis and developing action plans.
- Maintain effective communication with patients, relatives, and staff, contributing to the active resolution of complex situations, conflicts, and issues.
We are looking for a candidate with:
- Current NMC registration.
- Proof of postgraduate development.
- Previous experience of managing a team.
- Desirable: experience at Band 7 or above in a mental health setting, experience in forensic mental health, knowledge of the Mental Health Act, and experience of working with carers and families.
