Category Manager

We are seeking a skilled Category Manager to join our team at Eh Smith (builders Merchants) Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating, delivering, and owning a clear and customer-focused strategy for product categories in Heavyside and Timber.
Key Responsibilities:- Negotiate supply agreements and manage suppliers to ensure high-quality service and meet agreed SLA's and KPI's.
- Develop long-term strategies for product ranges and categories, ensuring commercial performance and growth.
- Take overall responsibility for the commercial performance of assigned categories, meeting targets set by Line Managers.
- Ensure selling prices align with pricing policy and communicate relevant product and supplier information to sales/branch teams.
- Forecast product demand to maintain optimal inventory levels and product supply.
- Analyse data to identify industry and customer trends, and develop business opportunities.
- Work with branches to specify products, quantities, and locations for stockholding.
- Develop exit strategies for unsuccessful products and maintain stockholding at optimal levels.
- Minimise aged stock products and communicate product information to sales/branch teams.
