Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced housing professional to join our team as a Senior Housing Officer. As part of this role, you will be responsible for managing a housing portfolio, providing excellent customer service, and overseeing the management of our estates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service: Respond to customer inquiries, resolve issues promptly, and provide high-quality support.
  • Housing Management: Manage a housing portfolio, ensuring that all properties meet the required standards and are well-maintained.
  • Rent Arrears Control: Work with customers to prevent rent arrears and take necessary steps to recover outstanding rent.
  • Void Management: Monitor void levels, identify opportunities to reduce vacancies, and implement strategies to minimize downtime.
  • Estate Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of our estates to ensure that they are safe, secure, and well-maintained.
  • Team Supervision: Provide leadership and guidance to the Housing Services team, ensuring that they have the support and resources needed to deliver excellent service.
  • Networking: Attend networking events and partnership meetings to build relationships with external agencies, local authorities, and other stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Experience of working in the social housing sector
  • Knowledge of housing legislation and policy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrable knowledge of equality issues and legislation
