Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Supporting Education Professional to join our team at Empowering Learning Ltd. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic and personal development of children and young adults with special educational needs (SEN) in a Middle School setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children or young adults in their learning and personal care, working closely with pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups.
  • Work effectively with other staff to support student development, promoting a collaborative and inclusive learning environment.
  • Provide individualized support to students with SEN, adapting to their unique needs and abilities.
  • Assist with lesson planning, preparation, and delivery, ensuring a smooth and engaging learning experience.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs), working closely with teachers and other support staff.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, ensuring timely and effective communication with parents and carers.

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting young people with learning difficulties or disabilities, preferably in a school-based environment.
  • Valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check, registered with the online update service, or willingness to apply for one.
  • Commitment to working full-time for 1-6 months, with flexibility to adapt to changing needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
