Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

GSL Education - Leicester is seeking a dedicated and passionate Learning Support Assistant to join our specialist provision. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students with SEMH needs in their learning and social development.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with students from the start.
  • Use restorative practices to help manage behavior and resolve conflicts.
  • Work closely with teachers and staff to create a safe, supportive environment.
  • Encourage students to reach their full potential both academically and socially.
Requirements:
  • Recent graduate with an interest in Criminal Justice or Restorative Practices.
  • A passion for working with young people with SEMH or behavioral needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Empathetic, patient, and committed to making a difference.
  • Ability to work in a team and build relationships with students and staff.

This role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection. Successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including providing an enhanced DBS on the update service or completing an application for a new check.
