Job Title: Functional Skills Tutor English

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Functional Skills Tutor to join our team. As a Functional Skills Tutor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning to our learners, helping them to achieve their goals and improve their English language skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver Functional Skills English lessons to learners in a classroom environment
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that cater to the individual needs of learners
  • Work with a caseload of 12 learners, providing support and guidance to help them achieve their qualifications
  • Mark and provide feedback to learners on their progress
  • Produce reports on learner progress and development
Requirements:
  • Experience of teaching Functional Skills English to adults
  • Strong knowledge of the English language and literacy skills
  • Ability to work with a diverse range of learners and adapt teaching to meet their needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Working Environment:

The role will be based in a prison environment, working with learners who are committed to improving their English language skills. The prison has a supportive and secure environment, with a team of experienced staff who are dedicated to helping learners achieve their goals.
