Job Title: Functional Skills English Tutor at HMP Brixton

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Functional Skills English Tutor to join our team at HMP Brixton. As a Tutor, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality education to learners, supporting them to achieve their goals and improve their lives.

About the Role

This is a permanent, part-time position working 24 hours per week. You will be responsible for developing and delivering engaging and effective lessons, assessing learner progress, and providing feedback and guidance to support their learning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver high-quality, learner-focused education to meet contractual requirements and standards
  • Assess learner progress and provide feedback and guidance to support their learning
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the best outcomes for learners
  • Contribute to the development of curriculum and resources to support learner needs
Requirements
  • Teaching qualification or subject specialist qualification at Level 4 (new standards)
  • Hold at least a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy
  • Track record of effective teaching in subject specialism
