Job Title: Functional Skills English/Maths Tutor at HMP FelthamAbout the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Functional Skills English/Maths tutor to join our team at HMP Feltham. As a tutor, you will play a vital role in helping our learners develop their functional skills competencies, delivering engaging and effective lessons that cater to the needs of each individual learner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver high-quality lessons that incorporate ICT skills, creating a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
  • Assess learner needs and develop individualized learning plans, monitoring learner progress and providing constructive feedback.
  • Support learners in achieving their City & Guilds qualifications, collaborating with colleagues to ensure the best possible outcomes for all learners.
  • Stay up to date with curriculum changes and best practices in education, applying this knowledge to enhance the learning experience.
Requirements
  • A full teaching qualification and experience teaching English/Maths courses are required. However, the right candidate with appropriate experience might be considered if they are committed to completing their teaching qualification within the first year of employment.
  • Hold at least a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy.
  • Track record of effective teaching in subject specialism.
  • Gain/hold and maintain a clean, enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
