Job Title: English Functional Skills Tutor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced English Functional Skills Tutor to join our team at CRA GROUP LIMITED.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences for learners, managing teaching and learning in line with our policies and practices, and contributing to the continuous development of our curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver teaching duties, including initial assessments of learners, identifying individual learning needs, and referring to learning support as appropriate.
  • Plan and prepare teaching and learning materials, including course outlines, schemes of work, and lesson plans.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date class registers and maintain high levels of retention, achievement, and learner progression.
  • Monitor learner attendance and punctuality, and take appropriate action as required.
  • Assess and record learner outcomes, including the completion of exam entry forms.
  • Comply with safeguarding requirements, including Health and Safety and GDPR regulations.
  • Observe and promote equal opportunities policies in the classroom and learning environment.
  • Ensure the security of the classroom and equipment.
  • Attend and contribute to course team meetings.
  • Participate in the Service's self-assessment and development planning process.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience of teaching on accredited English Functional Skills courses.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in teaching, preferably in a related industry or sector.
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent qualification).
  • Knowledge and training in subject specialism, e.g., PGCE, DET, or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Minimum L2 English and maths qualifications.

Additional Information:

This role is subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. The successful candidate will be required to work up to two evenings per week.
