Empowering Learning is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join their team as a Sports and Education Support Worker. This role will involve working closely with pupils who present with challenging behaviour, leading sports sessions at break and lunchtimes, and providing 1:1 support to children in class.

The ideal candidate will hold a TA qualification or relevant degree, and have experience in supporting children with challenging behaviours. They will also have an understanding of supporting SEN pupils and be able to inspire pupils to reach their full potential.

The role will involve:

  • Working closely with pupils who present with challenging behaviour
  • Leading sports sessions at break and lunchtimes
  • Providing 1:1 support to children in class
  • Using sports as a way to mentor children
  • De-escalating situations where children have shown extreme behaviours
  • Leading academic interventions with children working below age expected levels
  • Assisting the class teacher with the set up of lessons
  • Liaising with the class teacher and school SENCO around progress of the pupils

The successful candidate will be a team player who is able to work effectively with pupils, teachers, and other support staff. They will be passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children and be committed to delivering high-quality support.

Key Requirements:

  • Taught Assistant qualification or relevant degree
  • Experience in supporting children with challenging behaviours
  • Understanding of supporting SEN pupils
  • Ability to inspire pupils to reach their full potential
