As an Electric Vehicle (EV) Powertrain Test Technician, you will be responsible for the operation of multiple test rigs outside of normal office hours using defined test methods and scripts. This role requires installation and calibration of data acquisition systems, debugging and commissioning of complex electronic systems with high speed serial interfaces, and ensuring that the data generated is valid and in line with customer requirements.

You will be responsible for liaising with colleagues, customers, and suppliers in a professional manner, ensuring all instrumentation used is calibrated in line with company procedures, and helping to implement and follow safe systems of work.

About the Opportunity

You will join the Transportation Technologies division, which has two laboratories based in Milton Keynes. The division has seen significant growth, more than doubling in size every two years since 2015. You will be working on electric vehicle propulsion systems testing services, covering electric motors, full integrated axle modules, and complete vehicles.

Key Requirements

  • Vocational qualification or equivalent in a mechanical or electrical engineering discipline is desirable, but extensive experience will also be considered.
  • IT Literacy (Microsoft packages) required to maintain clear and traceable documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Highly energised mind-set with willingness and desire to learn and adapt individually.
  • EV powertrain, battery, hybrid systems knowledge.
  • Experience of EV powertrain or hybrid system test operations.
  • Knowledge of Alternating Current (AC) and Direct Current (DC) electrical systems.
  • This is a rotating week shift-based position.
