Senior Estimator Job Description

Recruit4Staff is proud to represent their client, an internationally renowned construction and civil engineering company, in their search for a Senior Estimator to work out of their London or Swindon offices.

Job Summary

The Senior Estimator will be responsible for preparing detailed and accurate pricing for tenders, supporting clients with pricing support for Early Contractor Involvement projects, and working in coordination with the Bid Manager to ensure competitive pricing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation of detailed and accurate pricing for tenders
  • Supporting clients with pricing support for Early Contractor Involvement projects
  • Working in coordination with the Bid Manager to ensure competitive pricing
  • Advising the Bid Manager on the sufficiency of the client's bill of quantity/activity schedule and arranging for full quantity take-off or checking as required
  • Providing advice to the Bid Manager/Design Manager on the most competitive design options
  • Ensuring company governance procedures are followed at all times
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a similar role with a civil estimating background - essential
  • 15-20 years of experience in Civil Engineering/Construction
  • Degree in Civil Engineering/Construction - desirable
  • Detailed knowledge of estimating software packages
  • Effective communication skills with experience presenting to clients
  • Knowledge of relevant procurement legislation with commercial awareness of different forms of contract
What Our Client Is Looking For

The client is looking for a Senior Estimator who can provide accurate and detailed pricing for tenders, support clients with pricing support for Early Contractor Involvement projects, and work in coordination with the Bid Manager to ensure competitive pricing.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role with a civil estimating background, 15-20 years of experience in Civil Engineering/Construction, and a degree in Civil Engineering/Construction. They will also have detailed knowledge of estimating software packages, effective communication skills, and knowledge of relevant procurement legislation.
