Role Overview

This position is a crucial role within our Digital Finance team. As Finance Manager, your responsibilities will encompass overseeing the complete financial operations for your designated area. You'll be responsible for balance sheet reconciliations, identifying opportunities to enhance procedures and controls, and contributing to ad-hoc projects and requests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly Profit & Loss (P&L) statements and Balance Sheets, developing a comprehensive understanding of the business operations and their financial implications.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing clear explanations of financial performance and position.
  • Lead and develop your team of finance professionals.
  • Manage and generate daily P&L reports.
  • Conduct variance analysis to support daily P&L reporting and month-end accounts.
  • Ensure that the management accounts team adheres to established Digital and Group Finance deadlines.
  • Implement robust financial controls in accordance with the Group's Financial Controls program.
  • Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Provide support during cost reviews with budget holders.
  • Assist the Head of Finance with year-end and interim audits.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Qualified CIMA/ACA/ACCA accountant with proven post-qualification experience (PQE).
  • Demonstrated experience in management accounting.
  • Proven ability to work effectively alongside and influence both financial and non-financial senior stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills essential for identifying and mitigating risks.
  • Ability to investigate, comprehend, and explain variances and overall business performance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to prioritize workloads and meet tight deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience within the retail industry is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with Oracle Financials and TM1 would be beneficial (training provided).
  • A positive, flexible, enthusiastic, and driven attitude.
