Job Description:

As a Mental Health Support Worker with Northern Healthcare, you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of people we support and their families. You will be part of a local mental health support network, working closely with colleagues to provide person-centred care. Your primary responsibility will be to help individuals achieve greater independence, guiding them through daily living tasks and celebrating every step of their mental health recovery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support daily living tasks: Assist residents with cooking, attending appointments, managing medication, and budgeting.
  • Encourage independence: Help residents re-learn and develop new skills in a supportive environment.
  • Promote community engagement: Encourage participation in activities like grocery shopping, family visits, leisure outings, and education.
  • Maintain accurate records: Ensure detailed, factual record-keeping while adhering to safeguarding and confidentiality policies.
  • Collaborate with the team: Work closely with colleagues to review support plans and provide person-centred care.
