Job Summary
At Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, we're seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Healthcare Assistant to join our Emergency Department team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our patients and their families.
As a Senior Healthcare Assistant, you'll work closely with our nursing and medical teams to provide high-quality care and support to patients in emergency situations. Your empathetic nature, calm demeanor, and excellent communication skills will be invaluable in this role.
Our Emergency Department is a dynamic and fast-paced environment, where no two days are ever the same. You'll have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of patients, from those in critical care to those requiring ongoing support. Your ability to think critically and work independently will be essential in this role.

Our Emergency Department has a strong focus on staff development, with regular training sessions and mentorship programs in place. You'll have the opportunity to learn new skills, work with a talented team, and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.
Key responsibilities of the job include:
- Providing holistic care to patients in emergency situations
- Supporting the medical and nursing teams in delivering care
- Completing clear and concise documentation for every attendance
- Maintaining infection control within the department
- Attending training sessions to maintain own training record
- Providing patients with nutrition and hydration
- Supporting in the maintenance of patient personal care
