The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Childcare Specialist to join our team at Riverbank Cottage, a therapeutic environment that offers a unique blend of residential care, education, and health services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with our staff team to provide 24/7 care and support to children and young people in a children's residential home.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with the Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
  • Deliver care that is formulation-driven, participating in the development of psychological formulations based on trauma and adverse childhood experiences.
  • Support young people to feel safe through positive relationships and models of complex relational care.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a dedicated and passionate individual who holds a Level 3 Diploma in residential childcare or is willing to work towards this qualification.

Requirements

  • Commitment to supporting and caring for vulnerable and traumatized young people.
  • Engagement in good childcare practice.
  • Ability to recognize and set limits of behavior, providing controls for traumatised and vulnerable young people.
  • Capacity to handle emotional and physical conflict.
  • Quick response and initiative in crisis situations.
  • Understanding of child development, attachment, and the impact of trauma.
