Detailed Job Description

This role is an exciting opportunity to join our team at Dorset HealthCare, working in partnership with The Prince's Trust to support individuals in getting into work. As a Primary Care Mental Health Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to our patients.

Main Responsibilities

As a Primary Care Mental Health Support Worker, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Providing support and guidance to patients with mental health needs
  • Working closely with healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans
  • Assisting with the management of patient records and data
  • Contributing to the development and delivery of training programs for staff
Person Specification

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A degree or diploma in a relevant field
  • Membership of a relevant professional body
  • Evidence of recent professional development
  • Knowledge and understanding of Trust Strategy and policies relevant to the role
Desirable Criteria

It would be beneficial if you have:

  • Demonstrable knowledge of synergy with Trust vision, values, and behaviours
  • Recent previous experience within a comparable role
Job Specific Experience

You will need to have:

  • Supervised experience gained during clinical placements
  • Ability to contribute to student development and supervise other junior staff
  • Demonstrable knowledge of assessment and therapeutic interventions in the area of practice
  • Experience of contributing to the management of change
Managerial Experience

You will need to have:

  • Experience of demonstrating duties to junior staff
  • Ability to delegate care safely
  • Preparedness and skill to act up and/or co-ordinate shifts in the absence of the team lead
Information Technology

You will need to be able to:

  • Evaluate data and produce reports using Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Experience of using electronic patient/service user record systems
