What does a Child Safeguarding Specialist do?
A Child Safeguarding Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of children and families in the borough. This involves providing a first point of contact for children and families, members of the public, and other professionals. The specialist will provide timely, accurate responses to support in accordance with the Children's Act.
The role requires strong communication and analytical skills, as well as the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. The specialist will gather, analyze, and summarize information from various sources to ensure that families receive support at the most appropriate level and to identify any risks or emergencies that require immediate attention.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will be a compassionate and motivated individual with experience working with vulnerable families. You will have a good understanding of social care, education, and health services, as well as excellent communication skills. You will be able to respond to requests efficiently and professionally for safeguarding and support from a diverse range of people.
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this role is estimated to be around £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including flexible working hours, 36-hour workweek, generous holiday entitlement, and access to the Local Government Pension Scheme.
